Walt Bailey joined Pacific Crest in 2017, bringing more than 20 years of industry experience to his role as a lending team associate.
Walt’s professional pursuits demonstrate that dedicating yourself to hard work and continuous learning – along with a healthy pension for curiosity – can lead to a fulfilling career and a lifetime of new and rewarding experiences. Growing up on military bases, Walt’s strong work ethic was instilled from an early age, and later reinforced through his own 10-year military career, which took him to far flung regions across the world.
Walt eventually settled in the Northwest and pursued an accounting degree from the University of Washington. After taking an entry level role in the accounting department at Washington Mutual, he was quickly drawn to the company’s commercial real estate practice, which piqued his interest in working within the more tangible aspects of lending.
Today he puts his decades of commercial real estate lending experience towards supporting Pacific Crest’s sales and underwriting team. According to Walt, he appreciates the diversity in his work and the opportunity to analyze the art and science of a multitude of factors that go into commercial real estate lending – from the economics and cash flow of a deal to the more nuanced aspects of understanding a borrower’s motivations.
In his own words:
“I appreciate that Pacific Crest is a place where we are willing to learn and try new things that benefit our clients. I think that is a real asset and sets us apart.”
“Every individual on the Pacific Crest team is conscientious about a shared goal: making our clients’ most pressing needs a priority every day to help clients succeed in achieving their investment goals.”
